MOVEMENT Use Arrow Keys or WASD to navigate the grid.

  • ⬆️ / W : Move Up
  • ⬇️ / S : Move Down
  • ⬅️ / A : Move Left
  • ➡️ / D : Move Right

ACTIONS

  • ⚔️ Attack: Simply move into an enemy to strike.
  • 🛑 Wait: Pressing a direction into a wall skips a turn (strategic waiting).
  • Enter: Confirm Selection / Start Game.
  • Space: Interact with Stairs (< / >).

How to Win

  1. Descend: Find the stairs (>) to go deeper.
  2. Survive: Manage your HP and XP. Fighting heals nothing; leveling up heals everything.
  3. Retrieve: Locate the Amulet (&) on Floor 9.
  4. Escape: Fight your way back up to Floor 1 to win. 

The Objective

  1. Descend: Fight your way down to Depth 9.
  2. Retrieve: Locate the Amulet of Yendor (&).
  3. Ascend: Carry the amulet all the way back up to Depth 1 to win
  4. Escape: Not all enemies need to be killed , your hp is limited ,fight wisely!

About This Project Written in C using the Raylib library. A 30-day development challenge to recreate the mechanics of the original dungeon crawler.

RETURN TO THE DUNGEONS OF DOOM

Before Hades, before Spelunky, there was Rogue.

This is a faithful recreation of the 1983 Unix classic, built from scratch in C and Raylib for GameLikeJam7. You are a lone adventurer seeking the fabled Amulet of Yendor. Buried deep on the 9th floor of a shifting dungeon, the Amulet is your only hope of glory.

No checkpoints. No second chances. Just you, your wit, and the ASCII dark.
